I just had to post about this. Every time we go and see my Granny & Pop we have to go down to the garden and check out their magical tree.
See these apples...

...they all come from this one tree!!
It's called an Espalier, where Pop has grafted different varieties of Apple onto the one tree! Now of course, I'm no horticultural expert, in fact I don't know the first thing about plants. BUT I know this tree is awesome! I've never seen this done before and it truly boggles my mind when I look at it. He has trained a different variety of Apple down each branch and intends it to grow the length of his back fence, that is about 2 metres outwards each side of the tree. It's like some crazy fruit salad magical tree. Cool huh?!
Here are the magical fruit tree growers who also have in the same garden, over 100 different Fuchsia Plants!

that is really amazing. I hope I know my way around a garden like that someday. cool post
This is so neat! I think it's sad that there are so many grandparents/parents with awesome skills and knowledge of randomly cool things like this that will one day be lost forever!
Beautiful - good on you for honoring your wonderful Grandparents!!!!
awww, your grandparents look so grassroots, love it! :)
my husband has just become obsessed with grafting this year too. next summer's gonna be interesting!!
wow what an interesting tree
Thanks everyone, they are really cool grandparents and very talented in the garden! They go to Fuschia competitions and bring home all these awards! I'm so proud... tee hee.
